personalization Franchise. It includes comprehensive training,
total support, site selection assistance, equipment, fixtures,
an operating system, etc. It can be located within a Wal-Mart store
if space is available.
Q2. Who Is Hometown Threads?
Hometown Threads, LLC is a wholly owned by WayneWorks Threads,
LLC. Hometown Threads is one of the largest operators of retail embroidery/personalization
studios in the United States.
Q3. Are Special Skills Required To Operate A Hometown Threads Store?
No! The entire Hometown Threads Business Unit was designed for
ease of operation. It all begins with a comprehensive three-week
training program, which teaches you all the basics needed to operate
your business. This is followed by on-site setup assistance as well
as service and support. But even more critical is the Hometown Threads
operational system. Every detail of running your enterprise is contained
in a complete set of reference manuals, so that answers to all of
your questions can be found at your fingertips.
Q4. How much money can I make with a Hometown Threads Store?
Your success is governed by you! Because each business operation
is different, and each business owner is unique, no one can guarantee
specific profits. However it should be noted that the apparel and
accessories market in the U.S. topped 150 billion dollars in retail
sales for 2006, according to a survey by the US Census Bureau. In
addition, statistics from an industry trade magazine show that only
14% of all current Embroiderer Shops are in a retail setting, which
indicates a wide open market potential.
Q5. Can I have just one Hometown Threads Store, or do I have to purchase
an entire district?
Hometown Threads was created with the concept of each Franchisee
having the option to develop multiple store locations within a given
geographical area. However, you are welcome to start out with just
one store and add more as you grow.
Q6. Does each Hometown Threads have a protected territory or guaranteed
service area?
We offer Area Development Agreements.
Q7. Other than purchasing the Hometown Threads package, what other
startup financial considerations are there?
We require that each new Franchisee have enough cash on hand to cover
living expenses for a minimum of six months and a source of working
capital to finance inventory and fulfillment purchases. In addition,
there are basic startup costs not covered by the Hometown Threads
package such as shipping, initial inventory, insurance, utilities,
rent, etc. You will be responsible for these costs.
Q8. Is there a conversion program for existing embroiderers?
Yes. We offer a conversion program for existing embroiderers
who wish to take advantage of the many benefits of becoming a Hometown
Threads Franchisee. In many cases you may be able to use your existing
machinery.
Q9. How long does it take to open a Hometown Threads Store?
The store opening will generally take place 30-60 days after the
contract has been signed and financing is in place, including a 3-week
training course. However, actual time may vary depending upon site
selection and availability.
Q10. Does Wal-Mart have ownership and control of Hometown Threads
Stores located within their stores?
Each Hometown Threads is an individual enterprise. Wal-Mart is a
landlord only, and does not have a financial stake, or operational
control over Hometown Threads. However, Wal-Mart does have standards
and conditions for any vendor that operates within their stores and
all Hometown Threads business units will be required to adhere to
these policies. One of Hometown Threads most valuable asset is its
relationship with landlords, like Wal-Mart.
Q11. Do you have a program for Franchise Fee discounts for Military or prior Military personnel?
Yes. Depending on the location and need, Hometown Threads may waive
all or part of the initial franchise fee.
